I’m Damla, a former financial analyst, now a digital product designer, currently working at a SaaS startup, Your Porter App.

 

After graduating from Boğaziçi University, I worked in finance for a year, where I did market research, analyzed financial data, and presented it in a comprehensive and visually appealing way to the finance audience. However, my interest was more in solving human problems and creating tangible solutions in the end. To pursue this interest, I went to Chicago to learn UX and UI design in an intensive boot camp, Designation. There I switched from analyzing financial data to analyzing user data and human behavior.

 

I worked at a digital agency, Efabrika, after coming back to Turkey, where I had the chance of designing the user experience of big institutions such as the Interior Ministry of Turkey and Turkish Airlines.

 

Now, I work at Your Porter App, a global SaaS startup for short term rental property managers. As the first and only designer of the company, I apply the whole user-centered design process from start to end, build the design system, and help to improve internal processes.

 

When I’m not working, I create miniature embroideries✂️, plant seeds🌱, or chill with my little panther🐱 (See the photo).
